Writing as a recursive process

Writing as a recursive process

This learning outcome is taking the time to look at a rough draft and see the whole image and the approach that one can take to make the essay flow better.  Its looking at the global changes. When I initially took this class I never looked at the global changes of my writing because I always felt that once I wrote the paragraphs it was set where they were.  This past essay that I wrote was the first time that I actually to rewrite my whole opening paragraph as well as the body paragraphs.  I did all of this to help further my argument.  The following photos show the draft introduction as well as the final introduction and the changes I made.  The changes that I made was actually rewriting the whole intro because I felt that it didn’t get my argument across. When I started taking ENG 122 I never really took the time to fix the different global changes that really have an effect on the greater of my paper.  This really had a connection with my ability to give peer-review as well.  It was all a learning curve as well as growing in my ability to be confident with my writing.  ENG 123 I really started to push myself in trying in new ways of changing the way I write as well as how I revise my writing.  Even on my end of semester writing prompt I took the time to fix the global changes that needed to be made as well as build on my argument.
