JOURNAL# 3: One of the key aspects that I found very helpful to my public speaking is the aspect that you should limit the number of main points. This is because of the fact that by having less main points it allows you to keep the audience interested in what you are saying. I personally feel that it would also allow you to properly develop the concepts. I also did not realize that there were so many different ways to organize a speech and how these patterns work allows one to get a point across easier.
JOURNAL # 4: For the speech being an impromptu speech it didn’t allow any extra work to be put in the preparation. This in a way was good for me because when I do have large amounts of time to sit and prepare I begin overthinking and thus I become very nervous. What went well was how confidently I was able to deliver the speech and was able to be comfortable giving it. Something that I need to work on is the aspect of eye contact. It can feel very awkward due to the circumstances but as time continues and the necessity for it does you become more comfortable.
